WYE VALLEY BEEKEEPERS ASSOCIATION
PRACTICAL BEEKEEPING COURSE – May 2021
Ideal for Beginners or Potential Beekeepers
Two weekend sessions in May:
The next course will hopefully be in May 2021 subject to the Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time.
- Provisional dates are:
Saturday/Sunday 8th & 9th May (Class 1 & 2)
Saturday/Sunday 15th & 16th May(Class 3 & 4)
2.00pm to 4.00pm each day - At Shenmore Lodge, Shenmore, Hereford, HR2 9PA
Subjects covered include:
- Bee Life Cycle
- Basic Handling & Management
- Equipment
- Feeding
- Wintering
- Disease Detection & Control
Cost (Approx.): Adults - £70 including membership of WVBKA and BBKA for 1 year. Juniors under 16 £25, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Membership of WVBKA entitles you to attend any of the association events, make use of the association apiary, be supported through a mentoring scheme and receive a monthly newsletter. In addition you will automatically become a member of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA)which looks after the interests of beekeepers at a national level and provides a monthly magazine covering many topics of interest, and disease risk insurance.
